Representatives of the defense departments discussed plans for joint training of government bodies and forces and means of the CSTO collective security system

From January 30 to January 31, consultations were held at the Joint Headquarters of the Collective Security Treaty Organization to review the draft Plan for the joint preparation of the CSTO collective security forces and facilities for 2020 and changes to the similar plan for 2019.

The event was held under the general supervision of Lieutenant General Hasan Kaloyev, First Deputy Chief of the Joint Staff of the CSTO. Representatives of the defense departments of the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Secretariat and the CSTO Joint Staff took part in it.

In his opening remarks, Lieutenant-General Hasan Kaloev noted that the main tasks of joint training are to harmonize the command and control bodies of the collective security forces and facilities, to increase their efficiency in preparing and conducting joint operations and operational combat actions in the collective security regions, improving interaction and increasing the readiness of forces and means of the CSTO collective security system.

During the consultations, taking into account the proposals of representatives of the defense departments of the CSTO member states, the draft Plan for the joint preparation of the CSTO collective security authorities and forces for 2020 and amendments to the similar 2019 plan was discussed and finalized and agreed.

The agreed draft documents will be submitted by the CSTO Joint Headquarters for consideration by the CSTO Permanent Council to make a decision on their further forwarding to the member states of the Organization for internal coordination.
