The heads of the military medical services of the armed forces of the CSTO member states have discussed the issues of medical support for the CSTO Collective Forces 11.11.2020

On November 11, 2020, a scientific and practical conference of the military medical services of the defense departments of the CSTO member states on the topic "Topical issues of medical support for the CSTO Troops (Collective Forces) in joint operations" was held in the CSTO Crisis Response Center in the format of a videoconferencing.

IMG_8388.JPGUnder the general supervision of the Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, Colonel-General Anatoly Sidorov, heads of medical services of defense departments and chief military medical specialists of the CSTO member states, representatives of the Military Medical Academy named after S.M. Kirov of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation took part in the event via videoconferencing.
The participants of the Conference paid special attention to the discussion of issues and the exchange of experience in organizing anti-epidemic measures in the armed forces of the CSTO member states during the spread of the new coronavirus infection COVID-19, the peculiarities of medical support for joint trainings of the CSTO Troops (Collective Forces) in a complex sanitary and epidemiological situation.
The issues of building up the capabilities of the medical service by including medical units in the CSTO Troops (Collective Forces) were discussed.
At present, it is planned to strengthen the CSTO Peacekeeping Forces with a special purpose medical unit, and subsequently to work out the issue of forming a consolidated medical unit with the inclusion of specialists from the CSTO member states.
The conditions influencing the organization of medical support for troops (forces) in military conflicts of our time, the issues of organizing the provision of surgical assistance in military conflicts, as well as the use of simulation equipment in teaching first aid were considered.
Summing up the results of the event, the Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, Colonel-General Anatoly Sidorov, noted that the specialists managed to discuss topical issues of medical support for the CSTO Troops (Collective Forces), outline ways to improve and develop cooperation on medical support.
