The CSTO Military Committee meeting to be held in St. Petersburg

On December 13, 2019 in St. Petersburg, under the chairmanship of the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation - First Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Army General Valery Gerasimov, the 15th meeting of the CSTO Military Committee on the development of military cooperation of the member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization will be held.The meeting will be attended by the chiefs of the general staffs of the armed forces of the CSTO member states - the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan, the first deputy chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic and the head of the CSTO Joint Staff. The meeting is planned to be attended by Deputy Secretary General of the Organization Piotr Tsikhanouski.
The agenda of the meeting of the Military Committee includes discussion of the priority areas of the CSTO's activities in the military sphere proposed by the Russian Federation for the period of the chairmanship of the Organization in 2020 and development of measures for their implementation, analysis of the challenges and threats to military security in the CSTO collective security regions and other issues.
Colonel-General Anatoly Sidorov, Head of the CSTO Joint Staff, will inform the members of the Military Committee about the main results of the joint operational-strategic training "Combat Brotherhood-2019", as well as about the progress in fulfilling the orders of the Military Committee on a number of issues, including those related to improving organization of management of the CSTO Troops (collective forces) in the performance of their intended tasks, solving the problems of international aviation flights of the armed forces of the CSTO member states and creating logistic reserve in the interests of the CSTO Collective forces.
