On November 22, a delegation of the CSTO Joint Staff headed by Colonel General Anatoly Sidorov took part in the V Interdepartmental Scientific-Practical Conference "System of interdepartmental information interaction in solving problems in the field of defense of the Russian Federation". The event was held in Moscow at the National Center for Defense Management of the Russian Federation.

Opening the scientific-practical conference, Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Army General Sergey Shoigu said: “It is important to note that information exchange has been established with the CSTO Crisis Response Center, as well as with the central command posts of the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Kazakhstan.” He emphasized that the CSTO allies joined in this kind of work for the first time. “This indicates that the areas of our work are constantly expanding,” said the head of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

“In the CSTO format, a system of interstate information interaction has been created and is being developed, in all countries, the national defense establishments have been identified by national centers authorized to interact with the CSTO Crisis Response Center,” said the head of the CSTO Joint Staff. He noted that since 2018, the Center has held strategic command and staff trainings and business games, during which proposals are developed to resolve crisis situations in the CSTO responsibility zone. Subsequently, these developments form the basis of the concept of joint trainings with the CSTO Troops (Collective Forces).

Anatoly Sidorov said that during the joint operational-strategic training “Combat Brotherhood-2019”, which consisted of a series of trainings interconnected in a single concept, issues of interaction between the operational duty shift of the CSTO CRC, national military command bodies and operational groups of member states of the Organization were worked out.At the same time, the head of the CSTO Joint Staff noted that the training was held simultaneously in two regions of collective security - in the East European and the Central Asian. The redeployment of troops over long distances required clear and well-coordinated work of the command and control bodies of all six member states of the Organization and the CSTO Crisis Response Center.
