The Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff took part in the opening of the International Military-Technical Forum "ARMY-2019" 25.06.2019

On June 25, Colonel-General Anatoly Sidorov, Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, took part in the opening of the "ARMY-2019" International Military-Technical Forum, held at the Patriot Expo Exhibition and Convention Center of the Russian Defense Ministry. The large-scale forum provides for a static exhibition exposition, demonstration and scientific-business programs, protocol and cultural-artistic events.

During the visit to the exposition of the International Military-Technical Forum, the Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff took part in working meetings with the Heads of the delegations of the defense departments of the Republic of Armenia, Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Tajikistan. Along with the exchange of views on the modern military-technical developments presented at the exhibition, issues of the development and improvement of the CSTO collective security system were discussed.

The Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff noted that the Organization’s collective security strategy for the period up to 2025 determines that the development of military-technical and military-economic cooperation in the field of military security is one of the strategic objectives of the CSTO.

Anatoly Sidorov also said that the International Military-Technical Forum "ARMY-2019" is one of the leading exhibitions and an authoritative platform for interaction between representatives of the defense-industrial complexes of the CSTO member states, which creates all the conditions for effective integration in this direction. Participation in the forum, of course, contributes to the deepening of military-technical and military-economic cooperation.

Previous day according to the website of the Head of State, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin during the meeting of the Commission on military-technical cooperation of Russia with foreign states noted that issues related to strengthening the military-technical potential of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, rendering assistance to its countries- participants in strengthening their defense capabilities require priority attention.
