Military contingents and special forces formations are fulfilling combat training tasks in order to strengthen the troops covering the state border, conduct a special operation to block a section of the border of a member state of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, defeat and eliminate illegal armed formations, and conduct reconnaissance with the combined use of various ground and air-based weapons .

At four training grounds, the participants in the training will work out practical action for preparing and withdrawing to designated areas of intelligence units by ground, air, landing and other means, including at night. In the interests of revealing the actions of illegal armed groups and sabotage-reconnaissance groups of a imaginary enemy and their fire damage, military, special, radioelectronic, engineering and artillery intelligence will be conducted.

It is planned to work out the issues of training and use of intelligence forces and means in the joint operation of the Collective Rapid Reaction Forces (CRRF) of the CSTO, practical actions of intelligence forces and means in the interests of localizing the border armed conflict in the East European CSTO Collective Security  Region.

The 14th meeting of the CSTO Military Committee took place in Moscow 21.06.2019

On June 21, 2019, the 14th meeting of the Military Committee on the development of military cooperation of the states members of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) was held in Moscow.
The meeting was attended by the Chiefs of the General Staffs of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, the First Deputy Chiefs of the General Staffs of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus and the Kyrgyz Republic, the Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, Colonel-General Anatoly Sidorov. The CSTO Acting Secretary General Valery Semerikov participated in the meeting of the CSTO Military Committee.

During the meeting, the priorities of the CSTO activities in the military sphere, proposed by the Kyrgyz Republic during the CSTO chairmanship, challenges and threats to military security in the Central Asian region, as well as the procedure for conducting joint operational and combat training in 2019 were discussed.

The participants of the event addressed the issues of improving the composition of the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Forces and the Collective Rapid Deployment Forces of the Central Asian Collective Security Region.

Members of the Military Committee discussed the creation of a unified air defense system in the Central Asian region. A decision was made to the CSTO Joint Staff, jointly with the General Staff of the RF Armed Forces and the Main Command of the All-Union Space Force of the Russian Federation, to organize comprehensive research work during which to work out the required composition, options for building a group of air defense forces and equipment in the Central Asian region, as well as their management.

The meeting considered the procedure for the participation of servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Organization's member states in a military parade on May 9, 2020 in Moscow, dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, Colonel-General Anatoly Sidorov, speaking on this issue, noted that the preparation of the contingent is planned to be held in three stages. The final stage will be held on the basis of the Alabinsky garrison and Red Square in the form of joint training in the spring of 2020. In addition, during the meeting of the Military Committee, the delegations of the CSTO countries reviewed options for uniforms for servicemen of the armed forces of the Organization's member states.

Members of the Military Committee were also informed about the activities of the Military Academy of Army air defense of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation named after Marshal of the Soviet Union A.Vasilevsky as a basic educational and methodical and research organization of the CSTO. As a result, a number of agreements were reached aimed at strengthening the collective security of the CSTO member states.
