The collective forces of the rapid deployment of the Central Asian collective security region are designed to fulfill the tasks of ensuring the military security of the CSTO member states of the Central Asian collective security region, including participation in repelling foreign military aggression and conducting joint counter-terrorism operations.
Formed in August 2001 on the basis of the Decision of the CSTO Collective Security Council of May 25, 2001.
The national formations (contingents) of the Collective Rapid Deployment Forces - the CSTO member states of the Central Asian collective security region distinguish military units, units and units of permanent readiness of the armed forces and other troops, formations and bodies that provide military service, equipped with highly mobile military equipment mated weapons systems and communications, as well as units of combat, logistics, technical support, a group of civilian specialists.
The KSOR, depending on the nature of the threat, may have a different structure, composition, and means of amplification, including aviation.
The total number is about 5,000 people.
The main tasks of the Collective Rapid Deployment Forces of the Central Asian Collective Security Region are:
