Andrei Nikolayevich

Born on March 4, 1962, in the vil. of Uglegorsky, Rostov region.

In 1983, he graduated from the Ryazan Higher Airborne School, in 1993 he finished the Frunze Military Academy, in 2009 he graduated from the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation with honors and a gold medal. He participated in the restoration of constitutional order in the Chechen Republic, in the annexation of Crimea to the Russian Federation, performed special tasks in the territory of the former Yugoslavia (Pristina throw) and in the Syrian Arab Republic.

From 1983 to 2007, he served in various units and formations of the Airborne Troops, served in all command positions from platoon commander to division commander.

From 2009 to 2011 – Deputy Commander of the 5th Combined Arms Army of the Eastern Military District of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

From 2011 to 2013 - Commander of the 5th Combined Arms Army of the Eastern Military District of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

In 2013, he was appointed Deputy Commander of the Troops of the Southern Military District of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

From 2013 to 2015 – Chief of Staff – First Deputy Commander of the Southern Military District of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

From 2015 to 2016 - Commander of the 12th Reserve Command of the Southern Military District of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

On October 4, 2016, he was appointed Commander of the Airborne Troops by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation.

From February to September 2019 and from December 2022 to November 2023 - Commander of the Group of Troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the Syrian Arab Republic.

In January 2022 – Commander of the CSTO Collective Peacekeeping Forces in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Since November 2023 - Chief of the Joint Staff of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.

He was awarded the title of Hero of the Russian Federation by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation in 2020.
